3rd March 2026 – Short Story Competition Results Night

Short Story Competition

We will be getting together on March 3rd to find out the results of this year’s short story competition in a glittering awards ceremony (just don’t expect too much glitter!).

This year’s theme – loss – has inspired a powerful and varied collection of stories. On the night, you’ll hear selected readings from the winning and shortlisted entries, offering a rare chance to experience these stories as they were meant to be heard.

All stories will be eligible for inclusion in our next Cambridge Writers short story anthology, making this evening both a celebration and a sneak preview of what’s to come.

Our judge for this year’s competition is award-winning writer, Josephine Warrior, who will share her thoughts on the submissions, what stood out, and why these particular stories rose to the top. Her feedback offers a fascinating insight into the judging process — and plenty to take away for writers at every stage

We urge all members to come along and enjoy an evening of sparkling fiction, whether you entered the contest or not.
