*Online only* Kickstart your 2026 writing with our first Cambridge Writers event of the year.

Ready to breathe fresh energy into your writing projects as we step into the new year? Join us for an inspiring online workshop on Dialogue, designed to help you elevate your storytelling and bring your characters vividly to life.

During this interactive event, you’ll explore how to craft authentic character voices and manage both intimate one-to-one conversations and dynamic group scenes. Through writing exercises, you’ll learn how to reveal emotion and character growth through what your characters say—and what they don’t.

Whether you’re polishing a novel, drafting short fiction, or starting something brand new in 2026, this workshop will give you the tools to write dialogue that sparkles with personality and purpose.

Hannah Hootonnovelist, screenwriter and previous winner of the Cambridge Writers Short Story Competition, is a former creative writing lecturer at Anglia Ruskin University. In this session, she will delve into the techniques that transform good dialogue into unforgettable character exchanges.

Begin 2026 with momentum, inspiration, and a renewed passion for crafting authentic and dynamic communication between your characters.

The event is free to attend for Cambridge Writers members. Non-members are welcome to attend as part of a free trial before joining.
