\"Apperception\"<\/a><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Apperception<\/em> by Emily Bilman<\/a> – a book of poetry about the excessive dreaming process we experienced during the pandemic. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dreaming often takes us back to our childhood memories and wishes as we deal with our confinement. In the book, the dreaming poet vanquishes her foreboding dreams that intuit the pandemic by realising that the lockdown made us all more vulnerable.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We became more dependent on each other; yet, we unconsciously dislike and repress our interdependence. We began to dream extensively to express our repressed desires. And dreams became poems. This is a fascinating unnoticed phenomenon and will be of interest to any readers who would like to learn more about the manner in which Covid-19 has influenced us all.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dr. Emily Bilman is a widely published poet who teaches poetry in her Stanza group in Geneva. Her thesis is entitled The Psychodynamics of Poetry. She continues to study poetry and psychoanalysis and participates in webinars organised by The International Psychoanalytical Association in London and is particularly interested by dreams and consciousness.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
