My background is in secondary education, both as a Classicist and Media Education practitioner. I have been a professional writer since 1978, producing non-fiction titles from Roman Slavery to Television Drama which have been published by Cambridge University Press, Macmillan, Bloomsbury and Liverpool University Press, among others. I still submit regular features to Media Magazine, published by the English and Media Centre based in London. I have also worked as a professional voice artist (2007-2019), was a volunteer diesel train (DMU) driver on the North Norfolk Railway for seven years, and I am a semi-professional jazz guitarist.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
At the request of Richmal Crompton’s great-niece, I have translated a number of her stories about the immortal William Brown. Just for fun, I am also translating Pride and Prejudice into Latin!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
