The ghosts of an isolated island cottage blow through a snowstorm into the present day where it has been rented as a holiday let.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Two young sisters accidentally release a swarm of flesh-eating beetles and jeopardise their mother\u2019s taxidermy exhibition.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

An elderly woman with the gift of second sight forewarns her village of a terrible darkness set to besiege their community but no one takes her seriously.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

A nineteenth-century gentleman is caught between passions and pursuits that isolate him from his family.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\n\n\n\n

It could be a long evening’s read, or a way of passing a spare moment. The stories shine a light on the theme of ‘Darkness’, exploring the shades of humanity, the contrast of values and emotions, and the “twilight between the living and the dead”. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Judged by the award-winning horror author, Chris Priestley, who said, \u201cIt was fascinating to see the range of story-making, the scope of the ideas and the different voices<\/em><\/strong>. I was really impressed. And I’m not easily impressed.”<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n
