poetry

The poetry group is perfect if you write poetry and want encouragement from fellow poets who meet to share their work.

stories

Short prose still lives in Cambridge. So bring along your story, play or article to read out and receive unbiased advice on.

long prose

The long prose group is where members share the latest chapters of their novels, memoirs, biographies, travel writing ...

welcome ...

... to the virtual home of Cambridge Writers, a group of writers in and around Cambridge who meet regularly to share ideas, invite critical review of our work and talk about writing.

Meetings every month concentrate on poetry, short prose and long prose. Regular events feature writing workshops, competitions and invited guest speakers as varied as new author, Helen Oyeyemi and Booker-nominee, Jill Paton Walsh. Common to every meeting is a shared enthusiasm about writing – we encourage, we criticise, we discuss, so that when we go home afterwards, we're inspired to write.

That said, what are you waiting for? If you love writing too, join us. However young or old you are, whether you write crime fiction or literary prose, poetry or travel books, children's stories or memoirs, articles or words that simply lift the soul, you'll find a warm welcome at Cambridge Writers.

」18 a year ...
books... isn't a lot yet that's all it costs to become a member of Cambridge Writers. For that amount, you can come along to the poetry and prose groups, join us at regular monthly events – and enter our writing competitions for free.
